Description
Claybright is a genuine South African product that enjoys wide acceptance worldwide as they adhere to international standards and are equal to imported products from America and Europe.
This non-toxic underglaze is suitable for both decorative pieces or functional ware, and is food safe.
You can cover large areas, paint very fine details, or blend your colours.
It is suitable for earthenware, and stoneware, and will work on both greenware and bisque.
Available in 50ml, 250ml and 1 litre bottles.
Preparation – Application – Firing
Many techniques can be used to apply Claybright: painting; sponging; stippling, spraying, sgraffito; and more.
Before use shake or stir vigorously to give the glaze a smooth consistency.
For best results apply Claybright to bisque ware, however it can be applied to greenware.
Apply 2-3 coats. Allow to dry between coats.
For a gloss finish, apply clear transparent glaze after firing the underglaze and fire to temperature appropriate to the transparent glaze being used.
Firing Temperature
1040° – 1260°C – Temperature affects pigments in different ways and can yield variability in colour and intensity.
