Influenced by the humble earthiness of tea ceremony bowls, Shino glazes give a traditional high-iron look to any high fire clay body.
Beautiful on textured or smooth clay bodies, blendable to get the right degree of matte or glossy surface.

Available in 473ml bottles only.
Preparation – Application – Firing
Shake well before use. If necessary dilute with a bit of water.
Apply 3 coats to mature Cone 04 bisque. (Stoneware and Porcelain)
Allow the glaze to dry between coats.
Depending on the application thickness, Shino glazes will have varying colours. For a warm rust base, apply a thinner layer. For opague, apply a thicker layer.
Firing Temperature
1185? – 1220?C (Cone 5/6)
