Description
If you’re after texture, movement, and a bit of magic, Luna delivers in full. This speckled stoneware clay is packed with fine grog (0–0.2 mm) and natural melting minerals that create dark spots of varying size and shade across an ivory-white base — giving every piece a beautifully organic, dappled look.
Luna is designed for artistic ceramics, and it handles well thanks to its grog content, drying and firing with minimal fuss. Use it with transparent glazes to bring out the full depth of the speckled surface. Just note: for best results, biscuit firing should be done at a slightly higher temperature (1050–1080°C / Cone 04) to prevent surface flaking caused by rehydrating minerals. If you’re doing single firing, this isn’t a concern.
Available in moist, extruded form, Luna is supplied in a 12.5kg pack — ready to turn your next piece into something truly celestial.
Important advice
The vividness of the spots of LUNA clay is caused by natural minerals that may include traces of other minerals that can rehydrate after firing at a low temperature and cause flaking. To avoid it, it is recommended to fire the biscuit at a higher temperature (1050-1080ºC / Cone 04) and increase the soak time. If you work directly in single firing, the problem does not arise.
