Bold, expressive, and deeply rich in tone, Prini is a striking black stoneware clay loaded with 40% fine grog (0–0.2 mm), making it incredibly stable and versatile. It’s ideal for smooth throwing and detailed modelling — a real favourite for artistic ceramics where colour and form matter equally.
In an oxidising atmosphere, Prini fires to an intense black that feels almost velvet-like in depth — a signature look of the PRN range. Fire it in reduction, and you’ll discover unique metallic effects with subtle blues. Its grog content supports excellent drying and firing behaviour, while its surface makes a powerful canvas for the right glaze. Just keep in mind that zinc, zirconium, and tin-based glazes can react unpredictably — so check with your supplier before glazing.
